TO ALL SEEDSTOCK VOLUNTEERS:
There may be that moment when you’re dancing on the front lawn, with your neighbor or co-worker, who you never knew enjoyed the same music as you. Or a moment when you see a long lost friend, and rage the day away together. These are the moments that make music festivals so unique and fun. For those of you who think an event like Seedstock just comes together, with the wave of a magic wand, you'd be mistaken. In fact, the great summer festivals are a feat of hard work and meticulous planning, with hundreds (sometimes thousands) of people coming together to set them up and ensure they run smoothly. Seedstock is no different. Each and every year our volunteers work tirelessly to make the Seedstock grounds, a safe and fun place for you all to sing, laugh and dance the day away.
What are the requirements to be a Volunteer at Seedstock Festival?
- Volunteers must be 18 years or older on or before Aug 1, 2015.
- Volunteers must be flexible to meet the needs of the festival
- Volunteers must be on-time for all shifts.
- Volunteers are expected to wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes.
- An accepted volunteer is given access pass for the day of the festival.
- Volunteers will be provided a staff lanyard to wear while working, and required to take it off when not working.
- For all your hard work you will receive a Seedstock Koozie and be able to keep your Volunteer Lanyard.
What are the Duties of a Seedstock Volunteer?
- As a Seedstock volunteer your goal is to make each and every festival goers day as memorable and enjoyable as possible.
- Start with a smile- Giving the festival goers a nice big smile and a heartfelt greeting is great way to pass on the good vibes of the day.
- Get to know the grounds and lend your insight- If people have questions, answer them to the best of your knowledge (knowing the festival grounds will come in
- Cleaning up- We ask that during your shift you keep an eye out for trash or recyclables that need to be taken care of. At the end of your shift you and your fellow volunteers need to check the receptacles for changing as well as the toilet paper in the porta-johns.
- Be the Eyes and Ears- If you see something that shouldn’t be going on, kindly ask the person to stop. If you find yourself having trouble with a patron, just contact the festival security to handle the situation (by no means are you obligated to kick patrons out or assist in doing so)
- We ask that you check in with the admissions table upon your arrive to the festival to get your wristband (you will be on a list). Prior to your shift you will then need to check in with the staff at the merchandise table to receive your volunteer shirt at least 15 minutes prior to your start time.
- At the end of your shift please check back in with the merchandise table and you will receive your free Koozie.
Will I miss my favorite band?
- Well, you will almost certainly miss some of the fun, although you should be able to swap shifts with your fellow stewards if your hours end up clashing with your dream performer. If you agree to do early and late shifts – such as helping set up prior to the festival and/or helping with the clean-up operation afterwards – you could find yourself free to enjoy the entire festival without working. And many people find festival volunteering a fun experience in itself; you get to make new friends and help bleary-eyed ravers find their missing glowsticks.
